When i look at this sculpture i feel that its showing the emotion of being scared, frightened or seeing something unusual or even confused. The eyebrows are shaped in a way that makes me think that it is confused, the wide-big eyes feels like it seen something scary and the face itself looks worried. The colours being used is just blue and black which makes me think its shy or not feeling well. The texture looks glossy and very detailed and the elements of design are used very well.
When i look at this picture it looks surprised and sad at he same time. U know, the face when u see somethin weird. What makes me think this is that one eye brow is wave'ish. Also i think its sad cause the other eyebrow points upward and his face is blue, in the expression of "why so blue today"(resemblence of sadness).Colours r just blue and black showing just sad plain worried. It looks smooth and plain(simple)indicating the expression, elements of desighn used very well.

When I look at this clay mask, I feel like the face is sad, scared, and surprised. I think it looks sad because the mouth is in a thin line almost pointing down, which represents sadness to me.The face looks scared because the eyes are wide, and=nd the eyebrows are raised. It looks surpised, because again, the eyes are big, and the eyebrows are up, and also the mouth is kind of open. For the elements of design, the artist used shape. For example, ths shape of the face is long, and when people are sad, they have a long face. (figure of speech)The shape of the eyes and mouth is also very important because they halp to communicate the feeling of shock, and sadness. ALso the testure, it appears to be very smooth and it very simple, which shows the expression of sadness. The mask is painted blue, which is a colour known for sadness, and it has pieces of black, which represent the surprise. The artist also didnt add much on to the actual face which helped shoe me the meaning because the emotions are simple. The elements and principals of design are used extremely well to indicate the feeling metionaed above. Thank you for reading this.
When i look at it, i think it shows the emotions of scared/frightened and confused. I think it's scared/frightened because the eyes are big and the mouth is open. I also think that it is confused because the eyebrows show that since one of then is a waved line. I also think that the colour of the mask (blue)shows that it is calm and shy. The face was also smoothed out and the features of the face (eyes, nose, mouth, etc) also shows that the artist spent time on it to make it good.
The sculpture give a feeling of it being scared, as if shot. The blue color gave the feeling away even more. The eyes are wide, indicating a feel of fear. Under the eyes are darker color, blue, which led me to believe the sculpture is crying. With the colors under the mouth(like water), I believe this is the blood or something similar. From what I can see, the "dot" above the nose is, what looks to me, like a bullet hole, now this proved what I think even more(the fear of getting shot, then started to cry). The size of the eyes and the mouth(I guess) are big and wide, so that means the sculpture is, to me, gasping as the pain hits it. The author used, mostly, blue, a dark one and a light one, which indicated contrast, kind of. And now that I've seen it closely, a part of it is also in an angry mood, and the other in sad/fear.
The sculpture's emotion that I think it depicted was surprise and disgust. I think it depicted that because the mouth opening up made the sculpture look like it was shocked or surprised. The right eye opening up larger than the other eye, made the face look like it was questioning something. So, the mouth opening and eye opening up made the sculpture look like it was disgusted and surprised.
I think that the artist used the elements of design, colour and form, to depict the emotion of surprise and disgust in the mask. The colour blue made the mask look like it was weirded out by something, which would just add to its emotion of disgust. The form also easily added to its emotion of disgust and surprise because, the mouth was made to be open, which would make the mask look a bit surprised on something. Its right eye was formed to be more opened then its left eye, so it made the mask look like it was also questioning something, which would add to its emotion of disgust. The eyebrows also added to the emotion of disgust because the left eyebrow was shaped to look a bit like a U, and that made the mask show it questioning something.
The sculpture is giving a strong feeling of surprise because the eyes of the mask are not in a straight line as they are in human faces by which a line of symmetry can be made and both sides look equal. But in this case, one eye is little bit up and the other one is little down which is giving a strong feeling of the face as surprised. Also the eyebrows are looking different, one is zigzag and other is facing upwards, like the one that I had in the mask made by me. This shows that the face is surprised and worrying about it. Also the colour makes a huge difference. The whole mask is blue which gives audience an another evidence of it being worried. The colouring looks kind of shinny and the elements of designs are well used in this sculpture. By Javal 8E.

Direction -- Direction can greatly affect a piece of art. For one thing, it can affect the mood drastically. If the direction of the lines are going up, it makes the shape have an upbeat feeling like anxiety or happiness. If something is goes downwards, the shape expresses a depressed and down feeling (like sadness). With this mask, the nose is slightly slanted. This shows a rater upbeat emotion. Also, the mouth is not droopy; thus, this mask shows a little more complexity than the character just being sad.
Let us move on.
Texture -- Likewise with texture, if something is rough, it shows an anxiety kind of feeling. When it is even, the feeling is a lot calmer: it gives off sort of like a sunny spring day effect. Texture can also be considered when it comes to how the mask physically feels, but since one cannot touch the mask, it would be best not to make too many assumptions on its physical texture. The mask is rough with many bumps. The bumps form wrinkles on the face, just like an old man. From looking at the eyes, this man is not old, perhaps 40 years old at the eldest. Therefore, I will presume its the emotion that is causing the texture. From what I have experienced, fear, and anger, and sadness makes one wrinkle; thus, one of those emotion will likely be the emotion the mask is exhibiting.
Line -- Relating to direction is line. Technically, a line has to have direction in order for it to be. This mask has many lines, drooping downwards, but then going upwards again. By doing that, Gloria Z. shows traces of worry and confusion.
Colour -- Colour plays a huge role in a lot of different art forms, including this one. A mood can be given to a piece of art by its colour. For example, if a drawing has many bright colours, one will think that the drawing is happy. However, this is different. This mask is very monotone. It only contains the colour blue, which is a cool colour. The blue gives this mask a cold feeling: a feeling like sorrow, shame, or guilt.
As I have finished talking about the elements, allow me to talk about the principals the artist used.
Balance -- When a piece of art is balanced, it gives the audience a calming effect, one that is pleasing to the eye. This piece is the opposite. The left side contains more than what is on the right side. Everything is slanting to the right on this mask. The right eye is also bigger than the left. This causes a sense of anxiety, or uprising. It makes the audience uneasy, and the artist probably did that on purpose to show expression on the mask.
Now, after analyzing the mask carefully, I have come up with a conclusion. The mask is exhibiting sorrow, worry, and fear. For sorrow, the lines show that. So does the colour. The worrying also comes form the lines. They come from the eyebrows, especially. The fact that one eye is bigger than the other also shows that the mask is exhibiting worry. As for fear, again, the eye also show fear, as worrying can be a symptom of fear. Besides that, the texture also shows anxiety which is another word for fear. In conclusion, this mask is exhibiting many expressions, complex as they may be, they is likely to be sorrow, worry, and fear.

I feel that this mask is appling the emotion of sadness and worried. Its like they are waiting for something horrible or tragic to happen like a cliff hanger. The mask is waiting for suspence. It also looks like its suprised. Witnessed something and is wanting to know whatat happened later
I've read some of the responses, but people are not addresses the element and principles of design at all. You need to say how the element of colour is used to create the feeling. You need to explain how balance, or unity or any other element that you think is obvious supports that feeling. Saying that "the elements of design are used very well" is not an exaplanation of HOW they are used.
CONTINUING WHAT I SAID BEFORE SRRY
I also think this shows this because of the way the face is aligned. The mouth is in a vertical line and i think that it is that as I have listed before. The color theme is sad, because blue is a very calm and sad color. Not excited like waiting for something nice to happen. Like i said before it has witnessed something it wasn’t supposed to see or something different or very unique. It also looks sad because of the shape of which the eyebrows are at and the eye, like you can tell that this is isn’t a very happy face. The texture seems rough with many lines and that kind of indicates that it is wearing a sad, worried expression. The color gives it away that this is a sad mask. The moth is also opened to indicate a feeling of horror or sadness. Like I have mentioned the mask has witnessed something it should have not witnessed.
When i looked at this mask, i think it shows the feelings/emotions of being scared, angry, and confused. The way the eyebrows are raised it seems like it is confused but it can also represent a angry face. The eyes are opened in a big wide shape that it feels like it has seen something scary or is mad at someone. The mask is made in blue colour so it isn't much colourful.since it isn't much colourful it doesn't represent hapiness and so it shows sadness. There isn't any use of lines and shapes in this mask. The mask is simple but the elements of design are used well to show the expressions and the feelings of the mask.
When I look at this mask, i feel that it looks scared yet confused. The eyes have wholes in them instead of having pupils and one eyebrow raised and the other is not. The lips look like they do not know what to say in some situation that shocked them . I think blue was a good choice .It was nicely blended and made me think about a person who was usually expressionless and cold towards people somehow got scared and confused. The textures are very well done and its very glossy. The person who made this mask must have spent a lot of time coloring and planing how to bring out such an unusual expression.
Thanks for reading :)
The way the nose crooks, the features are different sizes, along with the non smooth texture of the skin gives the mask imperfections.
The shades of blues and white transitions, the eyebrows and eyes give the mask a sad expression. The designs fading through help exaggerate the mood. When you see this mask, you can't say it looks happy or peaceful. The expression's more towards the pained side.
The way everything slants in odd ways makes the observer's first feeling a feel of disturbance. You can feel blood even though there is no red spatters.

The feeling the mask portrais is sad or scared or confused. The artist uses the color blue (usually portrais sadness or confusion). In some ways it looks scared or surprised because the eyes are big and the eyebrows are raised. The mouth is also open (shocked look).
When I look at the image, it looks sad, scared or even confused. The face looks like he saw something weird or unusual. The artist shows that by using shape, line, texture and colour. For shape it makes it look long because as they say when your sad why the long face, as the mask is long. For texture the mask is very smooth which also could mean sadness. The colour blue to me seems that it is showing sadness, guilt as it shows a very cool feeling to the mask. For the use of lines the artist creates lines that shows sign of worry.
Now the principles the artist used would be balance. Balance is used in a place where everything looks as if it is leaning to one side and the right eye is bigger too. The artist might have done it on purpose to show some feeling.
The elements and principles of design were used really well in this peice
When I look at this sculpture, I think that it's showing the emotion of surprise because the eyes are wide, the pupils are extremely small and the eyebrows are up as if it's greeted by surprise and/or fear. The mouth is also slightly opened as if his "jaw dropped". The face shows something as if it's surprised about something. But both eyebrows are curved in different directions as if it's confused or sad.
The shape of the face is long, as if to imply the "why the long face?" expression used to ask why are you sad.
The texture of the face is rough with some bumps. This can mean the face shows that it experienced a lot in life so they developed bumps and wrinkles. This supports the feeling sadness since the face is showing how it's unhappy from all the hardships that caused the bumps and wrinkles.
The colour of the mask is blue, which can mean that he can be calm, but it can also mean how he's very complicated and sad since the blue is in different shades all around. The blue is darker under the left eye, which can mean that he shed too many tears. There is also a darker blue under the mouth, where it starts off strong but gradually fades. It kind of looks like he's drooling or that something is coming out of his mouth. This can mean that he said things that just "slipped out" of his mouth that he didn't mean to say.
I think that the mask portrays a lot of the different principles and elements of design. The shape of the mask is one. the shape is really defined and not made sloppy, letting us see easily the different features of the mask. The whole mask is relevantly smooth, giving a way of feeling calm, and not so tense. The colours are picked really nicely. THere is only one colour, so we do nothave the trouble of knowing her feelings. Although, I still think that she should include different colours. That way, she can demonstrate more than just one personality. The colour was pretty much the same. There was not much difference in the tone of blue, I think the mask would have looked better if the painter took time to paint different shades of blue on the mask. The mask was fairly symmetrical, and doesn't have any deformities. I also think that this mask has unity. The smoothness and light blue as well as the mask's disturbing expression(that i described in my previous post) all create a sad, confused, hesitant kind of feeling really easily.
HOwever, I think that there were lots of things that the mask doesn't have. For one thing, there isn't really that many lines at all, and even though the features of the face were nicely done, I really think that there should be other shapes, that can be painted on the mask. Also, because of the fact of no lines, there is no way to have a direction of the different lines. The colour also doesn't have varieation. even though it's interesting to look at in the beginning, you start to get bored after a minute or so. There is also no gradiation. because of the lack of colours. if there was more colours, then maybe a gradiation would have a good effect. Also, if there were shapes, and reppetition, maybe the mask wouldn't look so plain. There is also no contrast. that being, because first of all, there is no shapes for colour(S. you can sort of say that the mask has harmony, but not really. Tha'ts cuz once again, there is no shapes and only one colour. If there were more things on the mask, there might be more elements of design and principles of design. So all in all, I have to conclude that really, this mask didn't have a lot of different principles of design. even though you could get a fairly good feeling out of the mask( discussed in my previous comment), there isn't that much principles.
-Corinna 8H
When I look at the mask I get the feeling that the mask is confused, and sad. I think I get the confused feeling, because of the eyebrows and the mouth. The eyebrows are twisted in a questioning look that makes it look confused, and the mouth is twisted in a way that also makes it look confused. I think the mask looks sad because of it’s color, blue is usually a sad and more depressing, cool color, so I think because of the different shades of blue, it portrays sadness as well.
I think the artist used the principle of design; balance very well because there isn’t only one shade of blue instead there are many different shades of blue, which help balance each other out and create contrast. Also the features in the mask balance each other out. I think the focal points in this mask are the eyes because the eyes draw your attention because they are darker than the rest of the mask. Also the mouth is very dominant because of how dark it is compared to the rest of the light mask. As I already said the element of colour: is blue because it shows the sad feeling.
In my point of view the white lines, near the middle of the mask give it texture; even though the mask isn’t carved, it still gives the visual effect of texture. The way the artist painted it white so it gets lighter near the edges and then darker in the middle makes the edges look like they are fading out and creates a really nice colour or tonal contrast. I think the shape of the mask (how the top is not perfectly rounded) actually adds to the mask because it puts more of an emphasis on the right eyebrow and how it is twists and the expression it creates, which in my opinion you wouldn’t notice as much, if the top was perfectly rounded. Also the lines on the face suggest movement which could also maybe mean conflicting emotions, cluttered thoughts or a busy mind.
Also there is gradation in the mask when it goes from the light (white) edges to the dark blue center where there are the eyes or the mouth. There is also repetition in the mask because of the same bluish shades that keep repeating over and over again. Harmony is created because the colour blue unifies the whole mask and also creates unity. Therefore I think that the artist meant to communicate the feelings of confused and sad and used many elements and principles of design especially color which was one of the main ones.
When I look at this mask I feel that it is showing Confusion and Sadness. It is showing confusion with it's eyebrows, how 1 eyebrow is proper and the other eyebrow is flipped and this stands for confusion. The mask also portraits sadness using colour. Blue is considered a sad colour. If you were to use this mask into real life, the best time to use it would be when you were sad and confused of what next to do. The artist has lots of tints of blues. There isn't a lot of texture which states sadness because you don't have lots of texture while you are sad. There is this weird shape of drop underneath the eye, which I think is a tear and it states sadness. I think it is a tear because the artist has used the same tint of blue in the eye and on the drop.
The artist has used the element of design very well. There is balance and unity in the mask because the artist has used tints of blue very wisely. The artist has taken a lot of time to make the mask and portray the colours and design
When i look at this sculpture, i think the artist is trying to tell us that the facial expression is sad, scared and a bit confused. The reason i think its confused is because one of the eyebrow's is up which indicates to me, that its confused. The reason i think its scared is because the wide eyes and because of the mouth, its opened. I liked the colours she chose because it matches the other facial expression that i think, which is sadness. I liked how she didn't use a solid blue, but different shades, and mixed them around a bit.The contrasts blend it well, meaning there not just random splotches of colours everywhere. For some reason, the shape of the face resembles the expression because if you were happy, you're face would be kind of flat and round but if it was sad, it would be narrow and long. The texture looks very neat, and the face is smooth including the nose, mouth, eyebrows, etc. I also think there is a bit of movement because the artist put some blue contrasting stripes into the other blue going downwards and when i look at it, i look to the left and eventually move my way to the right.
There are many features of this mask that can represent many feelings. We can tell these emotions or feelings by the color, shape, form, texture, and space that is on the mask. The features of this mask were shaped very well, and each feature showed emotion:
Eyebrows - confused, because it is very wavy and are flipped differently on both sides.
Eyes - shocked, because the eyes are wide open showing alertness or awareness.
Nose - sad, because the nose is long, which makes the face look even longer, meaning when the face is longer it shows a sense of sadness, like for example when people say “why a long face?”.
Mouth - pain, because how the mouth is so tight together and just the colour around it is fading to the chin, like something that is bothering them or something is kept secret.
The colors of this mask is made out of blue colors making me feel like this person is very emotional and scared ; usually blue is represented as a sad, moody colour used when your upset and this is exactly what I feel from this mask. There are many different shapes along the mask such as how each feature is positioned. I get the feeling of very mixed feelings, concerned feelings, like something is missing. The texture seems amazing because when I look at it, it expresses a very watery effect, maybe even a bumpy effect that illustrates that the person is very confused and worried, just something unsteady because of the wave texture. The space of the mask was used very widely showing that the person is very open but then when seeing that everything else is the opposite, you might think that they want to try to be more open and spread out, or even to try to express their feelings, or to let go of their emotions. The elements of design of this mask are very unique, that it has a fading effect that really caught my eye. I think it could represent that they themselves feel like fading, and again as if something is missing. The unity of this piece is shown, by its balance and harmony, but the thing about this is even though the face is shifted differently on both sides of the mask, the balance is still there, because it just makes it seem like an opposite effect. All the effects blend into one, which shows harmony. All elements are there, and were expressed very artistically.
The artist used texture, as there are many 'white' squiggly lines all around the sculpture.
The artist definitely used color, as the colors gave me a feeling of coolness to the sculpture.
Another element the artist used was balance, as the face was well balanced out. An example would be the eyebrows, where one side is going upward and the other side is downward
Henry 8D
The first element of design the artist used is color; the deep ocean blue colors represented sorrow or a guilt feeling. It also gave off a feeling of depression.
The next element of design is shape. For instance, the way the mouth is curved particularly illustrates the puzzled look the artist was trying to portray. Also, one eyebrow was bigger in size than the other which adds to the unsure look the sculpture is giving off (the shape of the eyebrows seems to also make the mask pop even more). Since one eyebrow is straight while the other is curved in an upward rotation, it seems to show that this sculpture shows a terrified look or is baffled by something.
The texture of the face is also very fascinating, since it also plays a huge role in communicating the feelings in this art piece. What I first noticed was that the face was very sleek and smooth which gave the impression that it was somehow depicting a timid character.
The value of this sculpture also made me aware of the fact that the artist was trying to illustrate something. This could be the way the artist actually blended the colours in, with a complete white shade on the ends of the face while bringing in a rich ocean blue towards the middle; the blue gets sharpest at the nose area. As you look at the mouth, you’ll notice an even darker shade of blue. Overall, what I especially love about this sculpture is the way the artist combined different types of blues together, all in one mask. This definitely adds more artistic value to the sculpture.

Viewing this mask, i believe that the emotions it is portraying are frightened or mournful. It looks depressing and sad, yet scared/fearful at the same time. The curve of the eyebrows displays that it is uncomfortable or confused, and the mouth and eyes display fear or shock of some sort. Personally, i think that this mask is taking more of the painful, sad side. This is because it is blue, and the colour blue can be used to signify sorrow.
The texture of the mask is glossy and well put, which makes it seem like its frozen in that reaction to something horrific. This mask makes me feel mournful, it makes me feel like it's in pain or depression and fear has just made it even more harmed. The details on the face portray the emotions nicely and the elements of design, such as the colour is used extremely well. Thanks for reading :)

When i look at this clay mask, I think suprised, frightened and sad/worried. The eyebrawl's have a shape that the sculpture is worried and sad but yet suprised at the same time because of the big eyes. The blue makes the mask look like it is sick and has the worried look that it is going to throw up because it isn't feeling well. The shape of the lips help complete the worried/sick look because the lips look like they are going to vomit out something. The texture looks very smooth because there are no lines that show texture. Some elements of design this artist used was shape because his features are mostly flat to make the texture smooth and also the features on the mask are very spaced out.

when i look at this sculpture, i feel that the artist is trying to show that emotion of it is like really cold and scared or frightened. It also seems like its in some sort of pain emotionally. The artist has done that through the use of cold colours which is mainly blue. The artist emphasized a lot on the mask's lips by using a darker shade of blue. The texture of it is really smooth because there seems to be no lines on its forehead or such like wrinkles indicating stress. It looks confused because of how the eyebrows are placed and the eyes. I think the artist made the mask's shape unsymmetrical on purpose to send out the message that its scared or frightened.
Mithuran 8D
When I saw this, my first impression was a scary, sad and almost dead kind of mask. Almost like a witch or some sort of gloomy soul. This was because of the masks colours (blue and black), and its design and shape simply tell me that this face is in some sort of depression (sad, frowning, lost). The elements of design: the value si very vivid, blue is for sadness and black for a dead sad feeling. The shape is very realistic. The direction and texture show a gloomy, sad expression, it is very clear. The sizes of the features on the face are what you would expect and stay to an average human's face. Overall, this mask is very simple and has a clear message that its emotions are sad and gloomy. Also the glossiness has a nice effect. Its simple but well done and quite realistic.
When I saw the picture of the mask, it looked scared, or frightened. The eyebrows seem to be in a strange position, almost seeming to look like it is wincing with fear. The texture of the face is strangely abnormal, and it seems to be covered in a clear-blue (very shiny) covering over it. If I look carefully, I can see darker shades of blue by the eyes, and the mouth, streaking down the face, seemingly resembling tears, however, I can not identify the dark blue streak down the mouth.
Miyuki 8D
When I look at this sculpture,I feel that the mask is confused because the eyebrow are going oppisite direction(up and down). The texture that the artist used is glossy colours. It looks like it was shot in the head bettween the eyes . Another I feel is that tthe sculpture is scared. it also look like that the nose has been crushed by a boulder or some other object hit the nose. i alo feel that the sculptur saw something strange happen. I like how the the arist made the tears darker then the parts of the face(most the face looks light blue and white)
The texture arond the sculpture face is that it's fading around the black, white, light blue.
I see the emotion of being suprised because the face sculpture has big, wide eyes that look like they are in shock. Another way the face sculpture looks suprised is because the eyebrows are slanted upwards, and the mouth is spread wide open.
I see the emotion of being sad because the color choice in this mask is mostly blue. To me blue represents sadness. Another reason this face mask looks sad is because the mouth is slanting down, and it makes it look like a sad face.
The reason this face looks like it is confused is because the eyebrows look slanted, so in that case, the face looks like it is confused.
The mask is overall very simple, but at the same time it shows many feelings and emotion.
Arathy - 8D
When i look at the sculpture i feel that its showing the emotion of being frightened, scared, sad & even confuse. The eyes are wide open and so is the mouth, which made it look like its frightened/scared. The eyebrows seems to be in a confused position, how they made the eyebrow rasing upward. The artist used the color blue usually represent sadness or calm.
When looking at this sculpture,
i get a sense that the emotion it's expressing is shy, scared or surprised. Shy because the expression is dull, and quiet and isn't saying much. Scared and Surprised because, the eyes are widened, and the mouth is just a thin line. I get the feeling that the expression is dull because the colour that it's painted is blue, and blue isn't really a boring colour, but it's a darkening colour. Also because the mask isn't as colourful and bright. The artist has used different shades of blue, because i can see the darker spots and the lighter spots. The only part that catches my attention is the glossy-ness of the mask. The texture looks shiny to me, and i can see some designs in the mask, but not as much because it's all blue. Overall, it's a good mask because of the way it expresses it's emotion and texture.
When I first looked at the mask, I thought the mask was making a confused look because one eyebrow is up and one eyebrow is down.
I think the artist used colour as one of the elements of design because she used all blue, trying to give a calm and sad emotion.
GLoria used balance as one of her principles of design for example, the left eye sticks out and the right eye goes in.
continued from before...
Gloria Z. also included a focal point on her mask. She painted everything sky blue but painted the mouth dark blue which draws your attention to the mouth.
when i just saw the mask, my first thought was it is frozen cuz of the blue colouring, the water coming of it's face looks like its frozen and the mask look he is very scared of something. It is like he just got frozen by a evil witch or something. The element of design was used was probly texture.
When I look at this sculpture i feel cold and calm. The face is showing like a scared, surprised, confused look. The eyes are wide open and it shows a surprised/ scared look. The eyebrows are squiggly, so it makes it look confused. The colour of the mask is nice, there are many different shades of blue, and the dark blue in the mouth seems like something is spilling out of it. The colour blue is very calming and also means shy.
The elements and principles of design used to communicate feelings are:
unity- The artist make the mask very smooth, and not much curvy lines to show calmness. Where as if the face had a rough texture, it would show that it is angry.
Another element and principle would be balance- the colours balance with each other, and they match well. The features on the face doesnt seem well-balanced. one side of the face is higher than the other side and the nose is slanted more onto the left; while, the mouth is going up to the right.
The texture and lines on the face- the texture is very smooth, everything looks nice and rounded. But, the lines on the face, like the eyebrows the lips are curved, showing confusion. Also, another element of design would be colour; like i wrote above, the different shades of blue would go side by side on the colour wheel, and they match nicely together. The different shades of blue show calmness and coldness.
This mask is honestly extremely stricking. At first glance, I immediately get a sense of fright, as if the face has just seen a tramatic event. The way the eyebrows point upward really adds to the effect. In terms of elements of design, color's the major one. The light shade of blue creates a sense of sadness. After going through a trama, it's normal to be sad. One thing that stuck me immediately was the fact that everything slants to the right. When she does this, there's a feeling of things being unbalanced. It's a mask that shows a lot if emotion.
When i look at this sculpture I felt a little frightened because it was a little distorted. I think the mask is showing that it's scared and frightened, but is hiding it. The eyebrow on the left makes it look confused. It looks like it's saying "What just happened? The eye on the left looks like it is determined, while the eye on the right looks like it's holding back. The colour blue on the face makes it look calm. The white lines scattered everywhere makes it look like it has sudden bursts of other emotions such as anger.
The mask looks pretty smooth. The smokey looking parts on the very left and right side look like he's being taken over by his emotion like it's clouding his mind. I think the elements of design are pretty nicely used on this mask.

This mask depicts of a person who is on the brink of death, and is experiencing excruciating pain. The face shows that it is sad, due to its left eye which looks as if it is crying; this is because there is a darker streak of blue which overlaps the lighter blue paint, making it look like a streak of tear slowly drying up, when it reaches the middle of the face. The face looks frightened, because its eyes are big/wide and bulky; looking horrified, also its right eye looks as though it got bruised from someone who punched it really hard, for it looks like a black eye. It also looks beaten up, due to the gray bruises(caused by the tone and lightening of the gray and blue) on the sides of its face and the way its nose is crooked and deformed, which gives the affect of someone who has a broken nose, and was just attacked. Moreover, the dark blue of the paint coming out of the mouth looks like blood dripping from its mouth. It gives out a feeling of extreme confusion, for its eyebrows are arched in a way, as though it is asking itself, “Why am I being beaten up?”The blueness of its face looks as though it is suffocating and is loosing a lot of blood. The mask itself looks swollen for it is rather big in size and the sides of the face are bumpy and wide. The texture is bumpy, and not smooth. The mask is not symmetrical which gives the mask a good affect, because one side of the face looks more swollen the other side of the face. The gloss came out very well, and the way the creator created the mask, is very unique and different. Overall the mask looks well done, and complete.

I think that the artist was trying to portray feelings of betrayal and hurt through this mask. The eyes are wide and the upturned eyebrow projects a shock of having discovered an awful truth, and the blue colour used, helps inhance the grief that's oozing out of the face and unify the different parts (the bulging eyes, to the opened mouth) as well.
The texture is also very waterlike; there are smooth rolls and bumps that make up the mask, and the hues and shades of blue and white further expresses this. Since water is often associated to tears and "down" emotions(e.g.sadness), this reinforces my belief that this is a snapshot of how someone who's just been abandoned would look on the inside.
I think that the right eye is the dominance in this piece because it is a slightly lighter blue than most of the mask, so that it stands out in contrast and catches the viewer's attention. The eye also sums up a lot about the face, considering that it looks like a crying eye. Tears are the universal sign of unhappiness, or elation, though in this case, I believe that it's the latter.
Lastly, the form of this mask seems organic, instead of sleekness that hints at machine-like qualities. What I mean, is that machines are androids; they have no emotions and neither do they express any. This face looks man made, like something that has flaws, just like you and me. And we, humans, have feelings, which is what is seen through this piece.
To me when I look at this there is a nice blend of blue colures. To me the blue looked as if the person is sad. Or is going to cry. Purhaps the person who made the sculpter was in a sad mood and he or she cries alot. Also because of the eyebrows make it seem as ifit's cunfused like they dont know whats going on. The wide eyes made it seem as it was suprised. IT was very well done and the elements of desighn were there to.

I think this a sculpture, is showing the emoticon sad, and they may like the sky and swimming, because of the blue. The mouth makes it seems they talk a lot beacuse the mouth is open. The eyebrows make it seem like she/he is confused, and they seem like they are not sure of things.
When I look at this mask, it gives a feeling of pain, sadness, confusion, disappointment and anger because first of all, the left eyebrow was curving in which gave me the feeling of pain and sadness and also confusion. And on the other side, on the right eyebrow it curved the opposite of the left one which gave me the feeling of anger and disappointment. Also, by the look of the color the artist had painted it seem like as if the person was drowned in the water;this is because there is a darker blue painted from the lower lips to it's chin, seemed like the water that were going in it's mouth are flowing out.
It also gave me a feeling that it was going through some kind of heavy sickness, so it made it look like it was going through a lot of pain and suffers through the sickness and maybe the little white streak that was painted from the corner of the mouth to the chin was some kind of liquid that comes out while it was going through the pain of the sickness. The mask's texture look rather bumpy and big and the face does not look symmetrical which gives the mask a really good affect, and also the gloss came out really well which makes the mask look even better. Therefore, overall the artist did a well done job on the mask.
When i look at the mask, i feel a really cold and sad feeling. The blue-ness of the mask, makes it look kind of frozen. The mask is completely blue, which represents sadness. Also, blue is a very cold, and icy colour, which gives the mask the cold feeling. Maybe it means that his person is really cold hearted, and the peices of grey on the side, maybe represent that hes evil too. Also, his expression, looks kind of sad, which fits perfectly with the colours that the artist chose to paint it with.
The expresion of the face, is really lost-looking to me. Its like he's trying to figure out where is, or doing some complicated math question. I think its because one of his eyebrows are up, and the other is down, so it makes him look confused, or doing some deep thinking. His eyes are opened wide, which shows maybe he's scared, or shocked. His mouth is opened slightly, so maybe he's trying to say something. Or possibly trying to prove someone wrong, but then chickend out; thats why he's "frozen" looking.
There isn't really any specific texture on this mask, besides the right side of it, with the gray patches. The mask is rather smooth, and glossy, which gives it an even more icey look.

When i observe this picture i notice the way the surface is, almost like ice. It's blue and shiny that can signify that the emotions are either cold or sad and schocked or frozen in surprise. The facial features of this face signifies that this face is shocked in a certain way. The way i know its shocked is because its eyebrows show that its confused and its eyes are large seeming as if the figure saw something that maybe scared him or surprised him in a way where it was also confused of what shocked it. The mouth looks as if it is pouting so it looks like its schocked in a sad and confused way as well. To me this face shows the emotion of being surpised, confused and disappointed or sad. Elements and principals of design are used well in clearly displaying this masks expression.
